Engagement Photos

Nick and I wanted to take our engagement photos in Austin, since that's where we got engaged.  We really enjoyed our time there; it's a magical place filled with opportunity and prospect.  We woke up fairly early one Sunday and drove around looking for something that popped out at us as a great place to take photos.  We found a few spots, but none really stuck in our minds as we were off searching for more.

We finally saw a place that was what I had thought of when I was thinking of the photos beforehand.  There were big green trees, Texas grass, and a nice little "pond."  The place was strange though, because it was situated at a pretty major intersection... it wasn't as secluded as it looks in the photos.  The place benefited from being many feet below the street, to where you could not see the roads... a tree covering blocked them, and the views out in the other direction were unobstructed.

So we settled on our ideal less-than-ideal spot, and I loved it.  Our good friends Carlos and Erin came out to photograph us, and it went really well.  We went near sunset and got more shots than I know what to do with, and then we rushed downtown to take a few photos on the water at Lake Austin/Ladybird.  I wish we had had time to redo this part of the shoot, because by the time we got downtown we had lost most of the daylight and we only had a few photos.  However, they came out good I think for all the rushing.
